Chippendale Arm Chair

These beautiful handmade chairs gradually superseded the Queen Anne style in the mid to late 1700’s. Chairs in the Chippendale style became more rectilinear, with square seat frames, straight backs, and outward flaring ears at the top corners. Back splats became intricately pierced and carved as were the crest rails. Many were made with ball and claw front legs.
